Born in upper Egypt, Mohamed learned the craft of making carpet and kilim from the age of nine years old. When he turned 16, he joined the UNESCO organization in the handicrafts sector. He has been operating his own workshop for 40 years now, and in the past two decades has trained dozens of young artisans to learn carpet and kilim making techniques. Mohamed has participated in Visit Badrashin!’s entrepreneurship training and taken part in our country fairs.
